From what we see around us, the US has become an unliveable place - rising costs, high unemployment rates (greedy multinationals selling us down the river to the Third world) and gradual destruction of whatever remains of the European culture here. Walk around any major city of California and the sights and sounds have become nauseating with all the ethnics and their alien customs.

From what I gather about present day England, it%26#039;s become a magnet for all immigrants in the world. So, where%26#039;s the harm with having kindred people from across the Atlantic.

On a serious note, I dream of retiring like a squire in a country house with a passion for daily tea and marmalades. I%26#039;m also willing to drop the Yank accent to fit in more.

If you think costs are high in America, you should see what they%26#039;re like in England. Everything costs about the same in pounds or dollars. And if you%26#039;re concerned about immigrants not assimilating, remember that there%26#039;s a much smaller difference between Mexican culture and ours than the cultures of the Muslim world and British culture, which is where most immigrants to Britain are coming from.

The whole world is betting to be one big global family that no country is longer very much isolated unless you are planning on going to N. Korea.I live in Hungary and under the communists it was isolated from the west. It is no longer that way. Unfortunately, you will find that there are people who break immigration laws in Britain too.|||Well im half british and half assyrian. However id rather have anglo saxon or celtic people from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or Zimbabwe in Britain than Pakistsnis, Bangladeshis, Afghans, Somalis, Kurds, Albanians or North African arabs.

These people are lawless, resent and are jealous of the native population, and do not want to fit in......they are quite literally destroying Britain!

Try hoardes of criminal gangs rampaging through our streets making peoples%26#039; lives a misery, incompetent police service, ridiculously high cost of living, noone can afford to buy a house, not enough jobs and too many people looking for them (including half of Eastern Europe), and an incompetent government. Not to mention terrorists trying to blow us up in the name of %26quot;jihad%26quot; every bloody five minutes!!!

I wouldn%26#039;t mind having people from USA here if they had much needed skills to bring with them and (unlike many of the current immigrants) weren%26#039;t just coming here to take advantage of our National Health Service and generally just suck the blood out of this country like overgrown leeches.

The UK you talk of is no more.|||Why if they are Americans now?|||we accept every one else so why not|||All places are beset with their problems. As an American myself, I understand where you are coming from. However, a good portion of my family are immigrants from another country (not going to say explicitly where from) but regardless, they are all legal, most of them hold high paying professional jobs, and all of them speak perfect American English, as they well should.

Its the 21st century dude, being of different race or ethnicity does not matter anymore. America%26#039;s society is a perfect example of what the world should be a mix of all races. Were all humans we all have the same blood. What does it matter what skin color he has or what language he speaks. If brought up in our way of culture he would be no different that us except his color. But if you don%26#039;t feel comfortable being with people who are not your race or %26quot;kindred%26quot; then yeah maybe you should%26#039;t live in America.
