Is there any reason the chronically unemployed and system abusers can't perform agricultural wo

I live in the heart of California, and there are always agricultural jobs, and at the same time, high unemployment rates!!! How is this possible? I%26#039;ve done farm work as a teen. It%26#039;s not complicated. You pick the fruit/vegetable and you get paid by the amount you pick.

Is there any reason the chronically unemployed and system abusers can%26#039;t perform agricultural work for a livingtitle loans

Yup, I live in the SJ valley, you just show up to the field and work, yeh real complicated eh but they are lazy bastards that would rather have it handed to them or mooch! I never ever see whites or blacks in the fields, I do on occasion see asians during onion season and these are the ones that ***** about the mexicans taking their jobs? If you are fast yu can take home 100-150 per day picking or pruning around Stockton Ca.. So get off your *** and go to work!

Sure, but that would involve work, and typically the chronically unemployed are somewhat opposed to work.|||The chronically unemployed in our society are the super-rich capitalists who do no productive work yet live fabulous lives by effectively taxing those of us who do all of the productive work. Trying to get those lazy bastards to do anything productive is virtually impossible. What we need to do is put an end to capitalism so as to get those scum bags to stop stealing the wealth that we produce.|||the libbies would call that cruel and unusual punishment. save that work for the illegals. America the beautiful has become America the ugly.|||These people are lazy and wish only to ride the system. In turn, many politicians actually want these people to ride the system as well. The more people who are dependent on government aid, the more power the government officials have. They produce all of this legislation which creates programs that need further legislation to support and provide funding, so that they can just add that much more to their political resumes.

%26quot;I believe that the best social program is a job.%26quot; - Ronald Reagan|||You asked if there was %26quot;any reason...%26quot; Here%26#039;s one:

In my case, I could not accept just any kind of work because I was a professional who needed a certain income to pay my bills.

Unemployment benefits would have been cut off had I accepted a job that was beneath my pay expectation, and I would not have been able to survive--not to mention what it would have done to future employability in my chosen field.

I would agree there are some who abuse the system. But, as one who was unemployed for a while, I can tell you there are not always simple answers to these types of questions.|||I think that you are onto something and that you already have an answer.

In most cases, you are right. There is no reason why they can%26#039;t do the work that requires little skill.|||No, there isn%26#039;t any reason at all why they cannot work. Most simply choose not to. Why should they? The government is more than willing to provide for all of their needs for free as long as they stay unemployed. It%26#039;s a flawed system that rewards those who will not work.

I%26#039;ve been saying the same thing for years. There%26#039;s plenty of menial tasks that can be done. Shoot, make them pick up trash off the side of the highway or something to earn that government check.

I also would REALLY LOVE to see them get drug tests in order to receive their assistance as well. Most jobs require it to earn a paycheck, why shouldn%26#039;t welfare? So, let%26#039;s recap:

- They get more welfare if they don%26#039;t have a job.

- They can sit around watching Oprah and get paid for it

- The more children they have, the more they are rewarded

- Free food with food stamps and WIC

- Free health care and prescriptions with Medicaid

- Can sit around and smoke crack all day long if they want to, because they aren%26#039;t drug tested

- Any extra cash they get under the table can buy those Nikes, a new Lexus, or a big screen TV

That%26#039;s why they won%26#039;t work, because they don%26#039;t have to until the government stops rewarding them for tainting the gene pool.|||Complex question. They could be IF: they got either $2. above minimum wage, or were provided with housing. On minimum wage you can either eat or pay rent, not both. For that matter they could also do work on public projects (like WPA or CCC did years ago). However if you take welfare, food, health, etc. programs they can do better than minimum wage. In spite of popular songs to the contrary; most of them are afraid outside their neighborhoods and / or gangs. In Denmark you can get cradle to grave state care; but if you do , and can%26#039;t get a job, you get assigned work. michael|||You have an easy resolution, but where do you propose all these %26quot;chronically unemployed%26quot; live? Generally speaking, if they were all camping out, there would be crime and sanitary issues, and the small towns in California wouldn%26#039;t tolerate that. So, if you and your buddies are willing to subsidize housing with your taxes, perhaps this would be a solution. Until that time, it%26#039;s not.

BTW, the %26quot;wealthy%26quot; are having this same issue in various parts of the country, i.e., Aspen, Sun Valley, Vail. The hired help - even teachers and law enforcement - have few to no places to live because the wages paid do not support living in these places, nor is there affordabe housing. What do you propose to do to fix these issues?|||Would have to fire all the illegals who do that and we wouldn%26#039;t want to do that would we. Might be sued by the federal government or the ACLU.
