If so then why do you think that, We have one of the highest murder rates in the world not by thousands but millions. High drop out rate, high welfare rate, very high prison rate, high unemployment(not as high as other countries but high), no free healthcare or education, please tell me why..

Well I can%26#039;t tell you that, because AMerica is the only country i%26#039;ve actually LIVED in all my life. If I were to visit every country in the world, I might be able to tell you which country is the BESt country in the world. But then again, since that would be my opinion, it still woudn%26#039;t be accurate.|||no, we are the biggest country in the world..... I think Switzerland was accredited the best country in the world.|||It may not be the best, and it may have its problems, but can you name any other country that has so many people doing whatever they have to just to get in?

That speaks for itself.|||instead of looking at what is wrong...let%26#039;s look at what is right with the USA...

we have many freedoms people in other countries do not have.

we have a wide diversity of people that make up our nation.

our country has great natural beauty, and there are many natural wonders to be seen here.

our standard of living is high, we take many luxuries for granted in america...

i like being an american...and i say, america, love it or leave it. go live in another country for a while, and see if you don%26#039;t appreciate the USA a lot more after that.|||For me, it has to do with freedom and opportunity. Nowhere are the rights of citizens so protected as in the USA. Nowhere can you make as much of yourself, regardless of socio-economic status. We also have the most stable government of any in the world, with the longest active Constitution of any country. Until 9/11, you%26#039;d have to go back two generations (WWII, Pearl Harbor) to find a time when our borders were actively attacked by an enemy. The USA is still the worlds%26#039; number one economy, and is still the envy of the rest of the world.

Problems? Sure, they%26#039;re there too, and while you might consider a move to France in order to enjoy their 28-hour work weeks (or whatever ridiculous number it is,) I think you%26#039;d find that the lifestyle here is better than anywhere else.

Finally, I love the geographic diversity. Mountains, deserts, oceans, valleys, canyons... I still marvel when I get outdoors to some new place I%26#039;ve never been and continue to discover the beauties of our country.|||I%26#039;ve visited five countries outside of the US (Canada, Mexico, Cuba, England, and Israel) and I%26#039;d still rather live in the US than anywhere else.

We have our problems, just like anybody else, but I would say that the US is the best country.|||In political science, the theory of U.S. exceptionalism shows that how people define the U.S. as the best, is really misleading because the U.S. is comparable to many countries in Europe is terms of size of the government, spending, and freedoms.

What%26#039;s even more fascinating, is that people in the U.S. are not aware of this. Also, they advocate certain morals that are not even practiced. For instance, U.S. citizens polled described the U.S. as the best place to move up in a social ladder for the poor. But when asked whether the government should give welfare, people usually say no. Also, the U.S. prides itself as being a %26quot;melting pot%26quot; yet so many other countries are just as heterogeneous as the U.S. with a lesser prevalence of racism. In summary, most U.S. citizens are not aware that the country is similar and not exceptional and they talk up plenty of our advertisements like freedom but do not act upon it with policies.

In short, the U.S. is not the best place to live for the reasons that many U.S. citizens are ignorant of our lack of exceptionalism, are full of missionary-like zeal in terms of military/economic intervention, and for conservative policies. It is one of the better places to live in the world, true. But it%26#039;s not the best.
