My credit card company won't lower my APR. Chase Visa is horrible!! Help!?

I%26#039;ve made late payments in the past, but since January been making them on time. I have a $4,000 balance with 21% APR, which is crazy. When I call them to lower it, they say they have no %26quot;offers%26quot; at this time and can%26#039;t do anything for me. I am fuming right now, why can%26#039;t they just lower it??? What do I do?

Stop using the card, and make as high a payment as possible, to pay off as soon as possible.

As your credit score gets better, you will receive offers from other card companies, to transfer the balance at a lower rate.

Whatever you do, the goal should be to eliminate any credit card debt.

So if they won%26#039;t help you, you help yourself, and move the balance to another financial institution. Don%26#039;t you get offers in the mail almost daily like the rest of us?|||Try and find a company that is offering no interest to transfer your account and move the balance. what ever you do, do not miss a payment because they could then demand payment of the whole amount or raise your rate higher.|||Thanks for the giggles.

ur %26#039;name%26#039; isn%26#039;t right this time. :-)

real world answer is get on a budget and use it. cut up ur slave card. get 2 more jobs and pay down the Chase(u) card in next 6 months then CLOSE the account.

OH the reason they will not %26#039;adjust%26#039; the rate down is cause u signed a legal document agreeing to said rates. and they are in biz to make money.

may i suggest a reading of %26#039;48 days to work u love%26#039; d.miller . a good book for going forward and plenty of fresh reference material.

the other one is %26#039;total money make over%26#039; d.ramsey helps our folks retain their cash.

spending less and getting more value from their paychecks.

our associates have a mandatory read of the books.|||If this person has recent late payments on her credit history she%26#039;s not going to be getting any 0% balance transfer offers.

Credit card companies write their own legislation in Washington...there are largely free to do as they please. There%26#039;s not a lot you can do. If you%26#039;re a homeowner you can get a 2nd-mortgage to pay it off.....If not, there aren%26#039;t many options for you.|||cancel the card. Get a second job and pile cash on it til its gone.

Stay away from all credit cards. They make all the rules and change the rules in the middle of the game. They dont care about you or the situation your in. They are greedy little b*******.

Dont obsess with your credit ( I Love Debt ) score either. Banks spend millions brainwashing people that they need a high I Love Debt score to make it in todays world. Horse crap! Pay as you go and you can win with money.|||Threaten to switch to a different card. They are making a lot of money off that balance. If I were you since they didnt seem to care. Just get a new card. There are many 0% APR cards, I think some the APR is 0% for the first year but thats still better.

P.S. If you had paid on time those few times they may have been more willing to be helpful.
