On 1/6/06, I was contacted by Lending Tree to refi my condo- Alexandria, Virginia. They offered a loan of $184,000 at 5.5% and $46,000 at 6.5%. Doing this I would be able to avoid paying PMI as well. After some checking around, I called him back and told him that I would like to take him up on his offer. At this time, he changed the terms to $188,000 at 6% and $47,000 at 9.8%. Regardless, I was upset about this but the terms were still better than my existing loan so I decided to take him up on his offer. He then told me an appraisal needed to be done on the prop and I%26#039;d need to give him a $600 deposit to get my rate “locked-in”. I asked them if we had ANY problems with the loan, I%26#039;d be able to get my money refunded – he said yes. I made sure this was clear before giving him the $600 deposit. Yesterday, I was told that my wife %26amp; I did not have enough credit lines so they could no longer honor the loan agreement. NO REFUND, and they said tough **** when I protested. What should I do?
I recently had a fraudulent transaction take place on my credit card, how should I handle??loan company
Put your complaint in writing to Lending Tree, explain to them that you were fished in and that you will also be sending a copy of the letter to the department in your state that would be in charge of their licensing.
Send both letters out and write another letter to your credit card company contesting the charge, and call them.

Call your credit card company and protest the charges, they will put a hold on the transaction. They will investigate and if they find in favor of you will refund your money.
