and I closed both of them within a years time. They sent me a notice and asked me to open them back up with some offer they were having so I did. They didn%26#039;t have to run my credit cause it was within a years time. I didn%26#039;t think about it but would this effect my credit later?
I have two credit card accounts I had them for about 2 years.....?
I don%26#039;t think it will affect it too much - the main thing is that you should keep your oldest cards open. (doesn%26#039;t mean you have to use them ) just keep them open so that the history is alive. You don%26#039;t want to close off credit cards and open new ones all the time. This DOESN%26#039;T help your credit history at all. The closed one will be a dead end. The new ones will be younger and therefore not give you much history.
I have seen many people advising others to close down old cards. This is a no-no if they are visa or mastercard keep the OLDEST ones OPEN. You don%26#039;t have to carry any balance. (no balance is actually a good thing - it shows that you are not out of control. You can be trusted with credit because you don%26#039;t have to run up every card you have to the max - this is GOOD to show. *** only exception about closing cards is: if they are charging you a yearly fee to have the card. Talk to them to get rid of it - you CAN do that - I have and it works most of the time - If for some reason they won%26#039;t waive the yearly fee - kick that card to the curb) But for the MOST PART the OLDEST credit cards are the ones to hold on to. THE best way to grow your credit score is TIME gone passed. The only way to have TIME on your side is to just endure. Keep the card open - don%26#039;t run it up and get yourself into debt and you should do well in time.
I think years from now maybe 5 to 10 and up will start to really see your score getting better as long as you are on time and don%26#039;t miss payments.
Remember - Good credit is like trust - It takes a long time to earn it but it can be lost in a split second !
Good luck.

YES AND NO...HAVING ANY TYPE OF CREDIT REALLY EFFECTS YOUR CREDIT...BUT IT IS NOT GOING TO LOWER YOUR BEACON SCORE SINCE THEY DID NOT HAVE TO PULL IT BACK UP AGAIN
