Is there a way to consolidate $3k credit card debt when you don't own a home?

I have allowed my husband to drag me into debt, way over my eyeballs. I am only $3,000 in debt and have cut up the cards, along with his copies. My credit score was great, and now it%26#039;s as low as possible. I thought he%26#039;d been paying on them, but it turns out we haven%26#039;t made a payment since OCTOBER 2006! Bill collectors are calling me constantly, I%26#039;m 6 1/2 months pregnant, already on medicaid, filing for food stamps, etc. I do not want to declare bankruptcy (especially since I have nothing to show for his frivilous b/s). We do not own a house, and I%26#039;m living with my parents now (see my multiple questions question). I feel I%26#039;ve no choice but to put my new baby into daycare along with my one year old son, once the new baby is born. I have to get out of debt, it is tearing me apart - mentally %26amp; physically. My husband got a job offer in Cali., and is moving out there. I only make $280 a month now, and have to go get a full time job after our new baby is born.

Anyone know how to help??

There are lots of consolidation and counseling companies. When I was having debt problems I contacted www.consolidatedcredit.org and they have been extremely helpful with my creditors. My payment is $146 a month to pay on 3 cards equalling about $2000 in debt. Try them.

I would either beg your parents to help you get a loan, then string it out as long as humanly possible. ask them to make the payments then you make payments to them since you not making very much. Also, are moving with your husband or is he getting kicked out. if he is gone as the court to garnish his wages to help.|||I would say not to worry too much. $3000 is a managable amount. Pay the minimums. Go to work at some point after the new baby is born. Have your husband send you at least the minimum. You may be paying for a number of years, but eventually, you will be fine. It will all work out okay. It will all be okay.

Best! Good luck with the new baby.|||we did a debt management program and it was a total headache but 5 years later we have raised our credit almost 200 points and no longer have more credit cards than we need. It is a total pain in the arch when you start every account is late and they are calling you but it doesn%26#039;t last that long and you pay less than you did with all the payments. By the way we didn%26#039;t own our home when we started but we do now and it is nice in a nice neighborhood. Keep in mind 3K is really Small in the over all scheme of things you could possibly manage it yourself call the companies first to see if they will lower your rates and stop using the cards but the other program works if you need help
